Guest guest
Welcome Lora! I suggest you take some time to read through articles on www.westonaprice.org and www.realmilk.com for a general overview of what " healthy " means to us on this list. For starters, check out: http://www.westonaprice.org/nutrition_guidelines/dietary_guidelines.html http://www.westonaprice.org/nutrition_guidelines/dietary_dangers.html Most of us would agree that clean, grass-fed, full fat, unhomoginized raw milk is VERY healthy as long as there isn't a milk allergy. Where do you live? That is a factor in whether or not you can get good milk. You also will want to find a source of grass fed red meat to add to your family's diet. Best, ***************** I try to feed my family healthly. So I heard cows milk was horrible so I took my kids off of it a couple of years ago, now I am really worried about them not getting calcium from any other source. Am I suppose to be giving them suppliments? Is raw milk ok?

After reading Nutrition and Physical Degeneration by Dr. Price, I see that it is possible to avoid dentists forever , or at least I now have the right questions to ask a dentist (holistic) before I decide to see him/her or send my daughter there. In his book, he has a chapter on prevention of dental caries through diet. He includes supplements as well--cod liver oil and butter oil. Joy P.S. I know that the dentists aren't usually very nice if you tell them that you don't want x-rays. Saying that you don't have dental insurance or there's a chance of pregnancy or something like that helps. I guess it's a big money-maker. :-)
Guest guest
Sorry, but I couldn't resist. I don't think the pregnancy line would work with me as I'm 62. ;-) Enjoy! ;-) Judith Alta -----Original Message----- > Am I suppose to be giving them suppliments? Guest guest
Hi, Our son's baby teeth were horrid. We took him to the dentist just before he was due to start losing them (this was in the late '60s and long before I knew about proper eating). That idiot dentist wanted to fill ALL of the cavities, especially the ones in the teeth that were going to fall out in a few weeks. We told him to forget it in no uncertain terms, and to fill ONLY the ones that would be there for a while and were needed as spacers for the new teeth when they came in. He wasn't very happy but he did it. We never went back to him. Enjoy! ;-) Judith Alta -----Original Message----- I just had 4 of my kids to the dentist, their last visit was 3 years ago. Only 1 cavity was found. My son, Noah (5) has it and this was his first visit. He is the one I have had the hardest time getting him to eat meat, etc. He was raised vegetarian and has had a hard time changing. I always have refused fluoride treatments and I think this lack of cavities w/o them confuses the staff there. I got a glimpse of one of the kids files and they wrote: " thinks fluoride is poison " and after that it says " Homeschooled " . Boy, did I feel labelled! And I hate it when they question me about it. Obviously, I'm doing something right! Jerks! It'll probably be another 3 years before I'll want to take them back, what's the point?! They have great teeth! Robin
