Guest guest
Robin, I use Stoney Field Farm yogurt for my culture and it works fine for me. It is the highest quality yogurt I can find locally. I have heard Seven Stars and Brown Cow are better but I have never used them so I don't know. hope this helps, danny Creek Bend Dairy Farm Harry & Peggy Strite 11917 Snug Harbor Lane port, MD 21795 301-582-4135 cbdfarm@... just bought some Stoney Field yogurt, will that do for the culture? Guest guest
>>Hi Suze, I wish! I get our milk from Shelters Farm, recommended to me by the WAP chapter out of Detroit. It is pasturized, but not homogenized. It comes in old fashion glass bottles. Your recipe does sound easier, so I'll try it with the pasturized milk and see. I just bought some Stoney Field yogurt, will that do for the culture? ----->robin, the stoneyfield yogurt i've seen here has additives (pectin and something else). in NT, sally recommends using only yogurts WITHOUT the additives. i originally bought stoneyfield for my innoculent, then read that in NT. so i went out and got seven stars farm, which is pure yogurt, plus a few bacterial cultures (which is fine). you could certainly try it with stoneyfield and see if it works. or find a yogurt without additives.
