Guest guest
Hi Rhea, Do you use the egg yolks and just not the egg whites or no eggs at all? Thanks, Diane
Guest guest
Hi Diane, We do use the egg yolks. We had it last night, (hence my post) and afterwards I searched online for other egg custard type dishes. All of them call for baking which I'm not interested in, BUT, it gave me some ideas for other ways to flavor this instead of lemon. I really like the idea that if we are going to have something sweet, it also have eggs and cream and/or butter in it - as opposed to say flour and chocolate chips. ; ) It's mentioned in one of the sidebars in NT, something about children being fed sweet pudding dishes (in the past), but that those dishes were also full of eggs and cream. (I think I got that right, no book handy.) : ) Rhea > Hi Rhea, > Do you use the egg yolks and just not the egg whites or no eggs at all? > Thanks, Diane >
Guest guest
That sounds like a good treat to make. The kids love real whipped cream, and a good creme brulee once in a while; a lot better than eating processed snack food. I was frying their eggs with butter and my son is standing on a stepstool eating the butter feeding some to his little sister. It was so cute. Maybe they can start helping me with some simple things to get them interested in eating well for a lifetime.
