Guest guest
Hi M, NP thanks. Ok I can definitely answer your questions how many calories a day you require to maintain > your current bodyweight? Yes please that would be wonderful > Everyone follows this diet because that's what the books and > magazines tell them to do. Unfortunately the general public don't > realise the stories you read are sponsored by the supplemenmt > companies or the magazine is owned by a supplement company. That I know, it is just so immbedded that to get lean you have to eat a certain way blah, blah. I bought some protein shakes and I drank one. Yuk, it tasted so artificial it made me sick, then I got a nasty headache, realized that it has aspartame and never drank another one. Oh my local bookstore calls me yesterday and tells me that NT is out of print(which is not) I just said ok as I was too aggravated that they waited 2 weeks to tell me this when I could have ordered it somewhere else. I guess I have to wait again for my book Thanks so much M, Bella
Guest guest
Hi Bella OK let's begin. You're eating smallish meals 5-6 times per day. Excellent. Great for keeping your metabolic rate high, keeps your blood sugar fairly even, and you take in nutrients from the food more efficiently. It's also great for losing BF because you play a trick on your body occassionally and it works a treat, but I'll get to that later. Ah yes, Bill and Body For Life. Back in the early 1990's Bill started a magazine called Muscle Media. It was cutting edge stuff and he was recognised as one of the gurus of weight training and nutrition, along with Dan Duchaine and Mike Mentzer. Bill had nothing to do with EAS back then, and the magazine was not biased towards any supplements or supplement company. In fact the magazine had many articles discussing the pros and cons of Anabolic steriods, and promoted Bills book, The Anabolic Reference Guide. Since those heady days, Bill started EAS, became more politically correct and turned a great magazine into a supplement promoting machine. Good luck to him, he's the one who made millions, but don't expect to get unbiased advice on training or nutrition. The BFL program is designed to be used for 12 weeks. Do it any longer and you will be grossly overtrained. How do you know if you are overtrained? You will not be getting any stronger from each workout, you will have no energy, no motivation, feel tired, you won't feel like training - we all know the feeling, it's just most don't realise what it is. Saying that, the exercises are ideal, you just need to do them less often. I can give you an idea of what I mean if you want? Ok, my diet (eating schedule) 7.30am - Breakfast - 1/2 cup rolled oats soaked overnight in warm filtered water with 2 tablespoons of whey (not the protein). In the morning we add fruit and nuts, and yoghurt we make from raw organic milk (which is made by heating the milk to no more than 40 degrees C). And of course a cup of tea. 10.30am - Home made spelt muffins with fruit or nuts or both in them, with butter (home made from the raw milk). Mybe a cup of natural low caffeine coffee. 1.30 - Tuna salad sandwich on spelt sourdough bread with butter or hommus. All salad ingredients are organic. 4 - Crispy cashews or almonds (the NT way)and a piece of fruit. 6.30 - Usually a home made broth (stock, soup, stew) using say a whole chicken and prepared the NT way, and a slice or 2 of sourdough bread. 9 - Home made yoghurt with fruit and maybe a little carob. Just before the yoghurt we take our Cod Liver Oil with a glass of raw milk. If anyone is thinking of taking protein powders they should check out the ingredients at one of the Food Additive lists (I think www.foodag.com is one) on the web and see what some of the ingredients do to lab rats. Especilly anyone living in the US. You guys use additives that have been banned in Europe , Japan and down here for years. It's your choice! I hope you find NT somewhere soon.
