Guest guest
I think you can trust there are no eggs in the healthfood store from chickens that eat bugs-- unfortunately. Country Hen is by far the best in the healthfood store. Still, they use flax for n-3s, so don't have much in the way of good n-3s like DHA. Gold Circle Farms uses algel oil, which is the closest approximation to actually eating bugs/worms; however, as and I have experienced, their eggs are basically crap now and are probably extremely deficient in minerals. It is a heart which burns with love for every creature: for human beings, birds, and animals, for serpents and for demons. The thought of them and the sight of them make the tears of the saint flow. And this immense and intense compassion, which flows from the heart of the saints, makes them unable to bear the sight of the smallest, most insignificant wound in any creature. Thus they pray ceaselessly, with tears, even for animals, for enemies of the truth, and for those who do them wrong. Guest guest
hmmm.... so I might as well not eat raw eggs and needlessly put myself at risk for bacteria/salmonella whatever since I do not have my own chickens and my own eggs and must get from store ----- Original Message ----- From: <ChrisMasterjohn@...> < > Sent: Tuesday, February 11, 2003 4:02 PM Subject: Re: egg question > I think you can trust there are no eggs in the healthfood store from chickens > that eat bugs-- unfortunately. Guest guest
By Mercola's count a person stands one chance in 30,000 of catching salmonella from eggs. And if you have a healthy immune system it probably won't bother you at all. I do not have access to any but grocery store eggs and I eat many! We've always eaten lots of eggs but two years ago we really went whole hog. About a year later I happened to notice that my thighs and hips were no longer rough and bumpy. Now no matter how hard I rub my hand down my thighs I can not feel any rough spots. I have younger friends (I'm 62) who would kill for that. If they're organic, the risk of salmonella is nil. The benefits of eating them raw are more or less unrelated to the DHA content. DHA would be more preserved in a raw egg, but it is far more significant, IMHO, that the protein is raw, more usable, and non-allergenic. Also, I've noticed raw eggs are very good for my immune system, though haven't helped as much as raw meat. Chris ____ " What can one say of a soul, of a heart, filled with compassion? Guest guest
Even the " Egg Board " says about 1 in 20,000 eggs are infected with salmonella. And those are factory farmed eggs. I don't even think about it anymore. ----- Original Message ----- From: Judith Alta Sent: Tuesday, February 11, 2003 8:58 PM Subject: RE: egg question By Mercola's count a person stands one chance in 30,000 of catching salmonella from eggs.
