Guest guest
I have read that the optimum chicken flock should be no larger than 100-150 chickens, and that it should include roosters. This is supposed to be the most natural, healthy, society for chickens. But I have eaten quite a few fertile eggs before. They taste slightly rubbery and altogether off-tasting. They don't store as well either (they go bad quicker). I have never read anything that says fertile eggs are healthier than infertile eggs, other than that bit about it being better for the " chicken society. " When I keep laying hens (which will be soon), do I HAVE to put a rooster in with them for the healthiest eggs?
