Guest guest
I finally searched for the right word in . (Simply, " nutrition " ) Sorry it took so long to find you all. It's been a pleasure reading your posts tonight. Thank you for being here. Traditional foods make soooo much sense. Research of all kinds that can be articulated for guidance, is valuable to me, but am not at all interested in epithetical advice unaccompanied by any explanations based on fact. Seen oh so much of that over the years. I've lived near, and and often walked in, the jungles of Malaysia for two years, near Kuala Lumpur. Saw some of the traditions of cooking, indulged in most of them. Am more impressed with Japanese food traditions, which include so very much sea ingredients. It makes lots of sense that the dozens upon dozens of elements in the ocean might have important functions in the body, as yet unknown. Have made my own tofu with sea water (the best), and my own sea salt. Both very easy and fun to do. Also very much enamored of Indian foods of all kinds, especially curry powder-based and spice-mixture-based curries. Very powerful influence on senior slowdown, in my experience. Restored my handwriting to near youthfulness (I'm 56), by sprinkling a good curry powder (Ship Brand, Green Label) on my food several times a day --- no, it never got boring. Question: is the correct chemical term for " trace minerals " really " elements " ? What is a " mineral " , chemically? Isn't it a combination of elements? The sea contains all the elements (100+), but certainly not all the minerals, which must number in the millions, many of them insoluble. I'm using the term " mineral element " for the 100+ different kinds of pure substances in the world.
