This is of course a generalization, so you have to take it with a

grain of salt, but I've abstracted this from accessing about my

career, and those of some of the people who are close to me, down

through the centuries. It is true, at least for some of us, that when

we go into a lifetime, we understand a lot about what we're going to

encounter there. We are given these life assignments as a reward,

because we've done well in the past.

And for those of us who've discovered immunics, you, for example, that

is quite possibly the case. Did you ever feel like immunics is a gift

from God? Have you ever spontaneously given thanks? Me too. And

there's more to it than that. We were giving thanks before we were

born, because our previous achievements had been recognized, and we

were going in with a fun, and winnable assignment: discovering

immunics, and giving it to the world.

For every one of us the specific form of this is different, because we

all have different skills, connections. And because we've all cured

different diseases, haven't we. The disease we were given may

actually have been a reward! Isn't that a weird thing to say? WE GOT

REWARDED WITH THE DISEASE? But yes, if I cured herpes, and you cured

diabetes, we got rewarded with those diseases, and now those diseases

have become our weapons, which we can use to empower humanity to

eradicate that particular disease.

A good example of this global empowerment in action would be for our

friend Joan, who has cured or at least drastically reduced the effects

of diabetes to get in touch with Kline, the actor and

anti-diabetes activist, join forces with him, and, using her cure and

his connections, eradicate diabetes. Easier said than done, but still

doable.

Can you see what a great assignment that is?

Imagine you and God talking before you are born, God telling you,

" Here's the play: you get diabetes, encounter a method of curing it,

hook up with this other guy who's going to be a famous person in that

lifetime and who has sufficient connections to eradicate the disease,

and do so. You'll recognize him -- you've worked with him before. "

That's right; we have all worked together before. Other contexts,

other projects, other times.

It might help if somebody volunteered to coordinate this effort, so

that when somebody like Joan writes in, that person could remind her

of these things, give her contact information for Kline, and in

other ways generally point her in the right direction.

I have literally walked through this park and thanked God I got herpes

in 1966. I had outbreaks for 28 years, and it was still worth it.

This is a plum of an assignment -- way better than other assignments

I've had in the past. Sure, it's war, but at least we don't get our

limbs blown off. And we get to cure things, and inspire other people

to do that. It's so much fun!

And, unlike other wars, when we win this war, nobody loses; nobody

suffers. When we win, even people who we've had as lifelong opponents

benefit. When we win, everybody wins. It's a win/win situation.

Oh! What a lovely war!

So as you come to your major life decisions, turning points, and

ponder what to do, get a clue! You always knew this was coming.

People say it all the time; " I always knew I would get this disease. "

Yes you always knew what was coming, but maybe you forgot what a gift

it was, what an opportunity. If you've cured diabetes, or cancer,

you're now in a position to save the world. Cool, huh?

That won't always be true. Once what we've done tips into global

consciousness people who cure cancer will just be another guy who

cured cancer. That's not going to be something that God assigns to

you before you're born; that's just going to be something you trip

over on the way to accomplishing your real mission. You, Joan and I

are three very special people, because we are among the first; and

God, and the world, are depending on us.

We always knew that.
