Not sure what your problem is, but just thought i'd mention that ascorbic

acid will kill acidophilus, and that most papain formulations are no good.

this is because:

-the papain by itself dosen't activate in the body once removed from the

whole fruit

-and most companies use ripe papaya which is silly because the papain is all

gone by the time the fruit ripens. enzymes international has the best i know

of, freeze dried green papaya

all the best, chris

Applesauce with cinnamon should regulate you and soothe the stomach at this

point, Chris. Theres some stomach bugs going around but not for as long as

you've had this. Ginger pushes these things through your system faster. Tea

probably the best way.

Thanks for your answers, Wanita and Chris. I slept over 11 hours last night,

and didn't wake up with diarrhea in the middle of the night or in the

morning, and have so far eaten two regular meals with solid food with no

digestive problems. So it is apparently gone now.

what do you mean ascorbic acid kills acidophilus? When taken

together, or in the gut? I didn't take isolated or synthetic ascorbic acid,

but a teaspoon of acerola powder. Does that make a difference?

Vivian,

I have heard of it, because my mom suggested I might have it. Well, if I did

I don't anymore, as I feel normal today and have been eating plenty of solid

food. I never threw up during the course of it. *shrug*

I hope you and your husband don't have anything too serious and get well soon.

I know you have mentioned working at Sturbridge Village, so I'm assuming you

live nearby. Have you read in the paper the " Norwalk " virus is going around and

generally making everyone feel pretty lousy in the greater Boston area. I'm not

sure exactly what it is, but it's symptoms include vomiting and

diarrhea--stomach bug type of stuff. My husband and I are coming down with it,

too, I'm afraid.

Viruses (if that is in fact what you have) just need to run their course, so I'd

suggest taking it easy on your tummy (avoid acidic foods) and just try to stay

hydrated.

Hope you feel better soon :o(

,

About a year ago I vomited once. The doctor/nurse I'm seeing recommended Ginger

Tea. It helped then and I use it now whenever I have nausea.

Re: Stomach bug

,

From my own experience with stomach virus, you just

have to ride it out till its done usually within 24

hours.

I would sip fluids and maybe cut oranges in quarters

and kinda suck the juices out. unfortunately

everything i know to do incolves all of the foods we

are supposed to remove from our diets.

But i would be off track for a day or town then when

you feel better get back on the diet. Maybe chicken

broths, jellos, fluids, and crackers.

Just my opinion
