Guest guest
Hi , It took me some days to let your message in. Because on a conscious level I don't want to fix them. Yet, there are times that I am trying to do this. Another red flag for caretaking is the resistance the person you are caretaking is showing you. People do not like to be told what to do. And they sure know intuitively that you are caretaking them. If I want to go for a walk and my husband tells me I should go out for a walk, I will feel resistance when he is talking from the perspective of caretaking. So, now when I tell someone something and they answer with resistance, I will ask myself: am I trying to fix you? Thank you , with love, Esther wrote: >Hi all, > >I realized from this interaction below, that the one thing we can >ask ourselves when we wonder if we are caretaking or not, is this: > " Am I trying to fix them? Guest guest
Hi Esther: When someone is trying to fix me, it feels like they are trying to put me in a box and seal it up so they don't have to deal with me. But, I do think when we don't caretake where we normally do, there can also be resistance in people we normally caretake. It's interesting to watch.
