Uses for Coke being an Urban Legend?

It may be listed on Urban Legends but I know people who have done some of

these experiments with it in chemistry class and it's worked. I know an

older lady that uses it for her toilet and windows and says it's the best

cleaner she's seen. We will be using it to take the corrosion of our

battery post in the car so we will see how much of a myth this is.

I remember about 20 years ago being told to use coke or Pepsi to clean

floors and the school teachers would tell us to leave a tooth in glass of

coke to watch it dissolve.

This is an urban myth. If you go to www.snopes.com, a site which

catalogs

urban myths, you can find an exact replica of this e-mail.

Snopes is a wonderful site. It will tell you if the info is tru, false,

or

unconfirmed. It will tell you when it started circulating on the

internet.

You can type a key word into the search, but coke has its own category on

the home page, called " cokelore. " I have found everything I have ever

searched for, with regard to mail I have been sent. Only two have been

listed as true. I have received this coke one several times before.

Baking soda works nicely for this purpose also, and no one seems to have a

problem cooking, or brushing their teeth with it.

Internet myths are just one of my personal pet peeves. Did you check out

the site? If nothing else, it is a lot of fun, but I find it very useful as

well.
