Guest guest
I have psoriatic arthritis and severe osteoarthritis and will be having kneee replacement surgery this week. They will do the right knee first, then later do the left. I have so much pain that is is often almost more than I can stand. I had to retire in Feb. of this year after being a home health nurse for a very long time. I am now 65 so didn't have but a few months to go but I had not planned on retiring for a while. Strange how our plans change. I am worried that after getting these surgeries, I will just have trouble somewhere else. My hips & shoulders are already bothering me and I have always been very active, playing tennnis, golf, basketball, well, all sports. It has been so difficult to stay home, but walkiing requires that I bite on a stick or a bullet and each step feels as if a knife is sticking in my knee. I am so sore when I get up after not sleeping all night that it takes several minutes to hrs. to MOVE. Any encoutagement or " coaching " would be appreciate. I think being a nurse makes it worse because we know enough to be worried. Sometimes I think not know ANYTHING would be better. I've had to stop the Enbrel, Methotrexate and prednisone prior to surgery and the last two weeks has been just horrible. Thanks Sherry HH
