Guest guest
Rob, Not many internists or general MDs are going to know much about CMT. What I would suggest for you, if you want a doctor who can help you with fatigue, medications, etc., is to find a neurologist. Use AMA's Doctor Finder, or better yet use AAN's Physican Search for a neurologist. Or perhaps contact one of the CMT researchers who might know of a doctor for you. I constantly feed my internist CMT info - and in doing so, I am educating him. This makes our relationship a 2 way street which works very well for me. My spine surgeon was knowlegeable enough just by way of his orthopedic/neurologic training, and our relationship is a good one too. I had to learn who was open to education, who is not, who I could trust, who I could not. Not many general practice doctors know about CMT period. I grew up in an era when doctors were gods/knew everything. Times change and we change with them. This works for me. ~ Gretchen
Guest guest
Hi Rob, I might know someone but need to know where you live because that makes a big difference in order for you to be able to get there. Mine are in Missouri. Pam
