Guest guest
My husband has CMT and this has been the #1 support for us for any question or concern that we have ever had about his disease. I am the actual member of this group (even though I don't have the disease) because my husband is not " in to " communicating with on- line communities - so i do it for him. I want to tell you all about something that has really helped with his extreme fatigue. He struggled with no energy at the end (or middle) of the day for as long as I have known him. We looked for anything that would help and he took all sorts of stuff (Multivits, CoQ10, B12, etc). As you have all experienced, nothing helps. About 6 months ago, I started using the products of a company called Melaleuca. I learned about the company because they produce a wonderful line of non-toxic personal care items and household cleaners. I started using the products because our baby has asthma and I didn't want to contribute to her health problem by poisoning the air. These products are wonderful and we love them. Melaleuca also makes a line of vitamins. They explained that they have a patented process in them called " Fructose Compounding " . This means it has been scientifically proven that it works the ways it says it does. I am not a scientist, but it has been explained to me that the actual vitamins and minerals are bonded to fructose (sugar) molecules. Our cells like sugar and will take that in better than other things. Most mulit-vitamins have about 5% absorption which means that it goes through our body and we " poop " it out. These vitamins have a documented 95% absorption rate and that is why they make you feel better. After trying so many things that didn't work, was skeptical. He is not the type to be impressed with a product, but this worked for him. In about 5 days of faithfully taking these vitamins, he said that he had more energy at the end of the day. If he forgets to take them, he notices a drop in energy. He used to never do anything when he came home from work, but now he can. This sure won't cure his disease, but this has been the best symptom reliever that he has found. I have been nervous to tell you all about this because I do actually work with this company because I found that I believed in the products. I DO NOT sell these products at all (that is not what I do with this company), but if you are interested in just learning a little more about the company or the vitamins, I can hook you up. The vitamins have a 3 month empty bottle guarantee. If you don't feel better and have more energy after trying the vitamins for 3 month, they will give you your money back. (I know that sounds like a goofy informercal, but they don't want anyone to be upset over their products so they offer a guarentee) I promise that I am not some weird person posting here to " get you " with my company. You can look and see that I have been a member of this group for years. I have just started reading more posts lately and I noticed that is not the only CMTer that struggles with fatigue. I have been nervous to post because I didn't want you all to think bad of me, but at the same time, I didn't feel right about having something so simple that works so well and then not tell you about it!! Please email me privately if you would like some more info. Thanks,
Guest guest
Thanks, I have to save it and browse this site later, looks good, I used to be on their message board, but got kicked off for posting about another board. Guess they didn't care for that. Anyway, Thanks again, Jeanette [ ] Help with Fatigue >I recieve a newsletter from this site once a week. It's primarily about > Chronic Fatigue Syndrome but it gives reports on pain research and > occasionally arthritis research. Guest guest
Wow Janet. Thanks. I needed that today. This week was rough and I'm feeling inferior. Things are hurting that have not hurt before...finger tips and neck and chest. Still I feel somewhat better after 2 Enbrel injections. Not the drastic improvement I wanted but I'll take it. My daughter had to witness me getting a treatment for my iron overload disease in the midst of 5 cancer patients recieving IV chemo. She was great...she brought water and snacks to the others and held my arm. But it's alot for a child to see. She also was home when I had to give myself my second Enbrel injection and I cried like a baby afterwards...tears of relief because this one did not burn like the first one. I took my time this time. She's been home all week because of belly woes...just diagnosed with Irriteable Bowel Syndrome and started medication for that on top of the 3 meds she takes for Autism, OCD and Mood Disorder. I'd get her to school and they'd call me to come and pick her up because she barfed. It makes my head spin and I was not able to retain my Super Mom status this week. I could not get a nap in there anywhere. Her Dad is having his thryroid zapped with radiation and so she did not go to his house for 3 nights as usual and I am Soooooooooooo tired. No nap. Not one stinking nap all week. I have come to rely on them and now I see what happens when I don't get them.I have not been able to work and the financial strain is getting hard to take but I make it somehow. I get things payed in the nick of time. Not the kind of stress you need with a disease like this. I have to keep my head up for my daughter. If not for her, I wonder if I'd be so strong. She's in the backyard right now with a metal detector and my garden spade. I see her digging. I hope she strikes oil but more than likely it will be a gas line. Nope....she's waving it at me....looks like a bottle cap...................and a shot gun shell. Gotta go! -Betz Betsy Jack itsbetsy@... Re: [ ] Help with Fatigue Betz, Just a quick note to tell you how much I love reading your posts. Your sense of humor is great and has gotten me up off my butt many a morning. You really should write a book. I just read the post about your daughter rewriting old 70's songs and they sound like they are a riot. Of course, having lived through that period, some of them really needed rewriting. Well, I am about to leave for a week or so in Oregon with family, and I hear their weather is a bit frigid. I hope I have enough pain medicine. Our weather here has been in upper 80's and feels so good on these arthritic bones. God Bless.
