All I can say Keely, is WOW!

You are so gifted with words and the way you share your

personal experiences. This story made me feel so good!

I feel so blessed to be part of this group, this group that

you have so graciously honored with your very inspiring story!

thank you!

> Two years later almost to the day was my second experience of

talking to God. I had just moved back to Philadelphia after living

in the Florida Keys for a couple of years. I was spending the day

doing logistical necessities in town -- getting my physical and

dental exams, registering for a seminar, renewing my driver's

license, etc. That morning when I was getting dressed and putting on

my makeup, I began to have a special feeling about the day. I even

looked especially good to myself -- a rare experience for me! While

I was in the bathroom putting on my makeup, Joni Bernstein came in

and said to me, " Wow, you look like you're getting ready for the

hottest date with the hottest guy in town. " It was funny because I

wasn't getting dressed up, just wearing a skirt and a little makeup

to do some mundane things, but I knew what she was saying because I

just felt really put together that day, physically, mentally,

emotionally. (Weeks later, when I tossed the I Ching, it told me I

was in a state of grace.)

>

> As I went through the day and did my errands, everything was going

my way, in spades. I seemed to have a glow around me or something.

I felt protected. The reactions I was getting from people in the

street were different. I would usually get some whistles or remarks

from guys from time to time, but that day people seemed to be on a

different dimension with me. Not just men but everyone seemed to

have a kind of appreciation for me and respect. It was different.

Everyone I ran into at the doctor's office and motor vehicle bureau

and everywhere I went just responded to me in the most beautiful

way. I knew I was in great shape and I was eliciting those

responses, and it was just wonderful. I felt blessed in some way,

and I just wanted to give the best of myself to everybody I met, and

that's what I did.

>

> At about 5:30, when I had finished all my chores and had a couple

of hours to kill before my seminar that evening, I decided to take

myself out to dinner alone, a rare treat. I headed toward my

favorite Greek restaurant in Philly. As I was crossing South Street

to get there, and kind of reviewing what an incredible day it had

been, I remember looking up to the sky and making contact with God

in my mind, and thinking, " God -- I'm in such great shape. Don't

waste me today. Please use me. Put me to use. "

>

>

> I walked into the restaurant, sat down and ordered, and then I took

out my notebook to finish an assignment I had for my first seminar.

The table next to me was set and there was a tall, attractive man

sitting there. Interesting, I thought, but then I noticed that there

was a place setting opposite him, so I figured he was there with a

date. So much for that. No big deal.

>

> Next thing I know, this -- I don't know what to call him.

Creature? Character? Human dynamo? This short, charismatic guy

walks into the room, snapping his fingers and grinning from ear to

ear. " Ladies and gentlemen, " he said, addressing the entire

restaurant. " I just want to announce that I have just met my second

wife, the future Mrs. ____, and she's sitting right here in this

restaurant. She's the one over there in the corner. The one with

the legs. " And he pointed to me.

>

> I kind of just sat there and stared at him, because I had never

seen anything like this before. He was completely at ease and self-

assured, and radiated positive energy He seemed to know everyone in

the room and treated them as if they were his kids or his fans or

something. Next thing I knew he had come over to my table, stood

over me, snapped his fingers, and said, " I'm the Geator with the

Heater, the Boss with the Hot Sauce, " and waited for my response. I

had no idea what he was talking about. He had been going around the

room, greeting everybody, flirting, giving instructions to the chef,

doing his thing, whatever it was, with utter confidence. I just

looked at him, bemused, and said, " Oh, I'm sure you are. "

>

> It turned out he was having dinner with the tall guy next to me,

who turned out to be a doctor, and as the little guy kept getting up

and making his rounds, the tall doctor kept saying to me, " Don't you

know who that is? " " No, " I said. " You must not be from Philly,

then, " he said. He told me that this guy was the most famous oldies

disc jockey in the city, the equivalent, I gathered, of New York's

Cousin Brucie or Murray the K. I told him I was from New York and

had never heard of him.

>

> " Perfect, " the doctor said.

>

> To make a long story short, by the end of the evening I had pretty

much forgotten about the tall guy and had been swept off my feet by

this character, who paid for my meal, grabbed my notebook and wrote

his name and phone number – in pen -- on one of the dividers, and

made me promise to call him as soon as my seminar was over. Which I

did. He told me to listen to his radio show the next day, which I

did. He played 5 hours of love songs dedicated to me, starting

with " At Last " by Etta and " That Old Black Magic " by Louis

Prima & Keely , saying he met a real Keely last night. He began

pursuing me in a way I had not experienced since the morning in 2nd

grade when I walked to school with Philip Edelstein and Melvin

Helgeson and they had a fight over which one of them was going to

marry me. This short, sexy, fingersnapping guy turned out to be my

guy, the love of my life. He not only taught me how to be happy and

gave me the relationship I always dreamed of having, but he has

supported me in a way that's enabled me to continue to do my work for

WHUM as a volunteer. This was 14 years ago and we are still

together, and it was very clear to me after a while that God had

truly listened to me that day when I told him to put me to good use.

>

>

> I ask for things of God very, very rarely, not even once a year.

But I do talk to God every day. I experience a profound gratitude

for and connection with God because God has responded to me in such a

personal, unmistakable way. I know God would answer my requests if I

made more of them. Whenever I work on myself, even for a few

moments, God answers me in a very big way. I think the quote

is, " You take two steps toward God, and God comes running toward

you. " So when I talk directly to God now, it's mostly to say thank

you, not always in those words, but with a feeling of gratitude and

appreciation for how God has taken care of me whenever I needed it.

I came online tonight to find something to make my day end happily. There

was your wonderful, spiritual, wish-upon-a-star email with the wonderful

story of how you met Jerry. Yes, you've told me before, but not like this. I

am smiling and happy and most of all, happy for you and the love of your

life. You are truly blessed with each other. Love is in your words. And your

love for God! He has blessed you most specially with love in your life; love

for others and love for yourself. I remember a time when you may have

wondered if this would every happen for you. And here you are, recounting

this utterly romantic love story to the world! I am so uplifted by this. God

worked through you tonight to remind me that He does take care of us and He

blesses us. Thank you. Thank you, my best friend!

I love you!

Thank you so much! This connection to God made me remember the other day.

On my way to work, for whatever reason, I was apprehensive about the day. I

checked to see if my

God connectors were in and got a yes. Immediately a car eased in front of

me as I neared the traffic signal and the bumper sticker read: " RELAX God

is in charge " . I immediately said " thank you, thank you "

Dear Keely,

What a treasure you are to all of us! I am so amazed at your generosity and

wisdom. who you are and your life are so incredibly inspiring to me.

I long to be as vulnerable and courageous as you. I long to live in the

truth the way you have described. I know that it is my destiny to be so

completely in the vibration of truth that untruth in any form cannot prevail.

Thank

you so much for the gift you have given to me.

Love,

Jeanie
