Guest guest
Yep, Danita, we have Curves here too. I did stop in 1 day and check it out. The big hype was about loosing weight/inches. I am not trying for wweight loss or inches, but going for " strength training " . I feel that my combined Physical Therapy and Fitness Center is the best deal for me - as it is medically supervised. And something like Curves, because it is not " medical " I could not get a " prescription " to get a deduction. I was also moderately annoyed by the women working out and yaking on their cell phones - it was a noisy environment... But I am glad this is working for you. ~ Gretchen
Guest guest
Yes, I think Curves for Women is great, but unfortunately I had to give it up a year ago. I did it faithfully 5 days a week for about a year. I pushed myself hard and tried to keep my heart rate up around 20 on the chart. I take Inderal for my tremor, and of course since that is a beta blocker, it does keep the heart rate down. But when I got my AFOs in June of last year, I could no longer do most of the exercises on the circuit, because I couldn't bend my ankles. I got too weak too and my balance is horrible. The exercises machines themselves weren't as difficult as the stations in-between. I miss it terribly and its hard staying motivated to exercise without the group atmosphere. I believe that the most beneficial part of the whole Curves experience was the stretching ritual after the workout. I am still able to do most of that at home. My advice is to keep it up as long as you can. Good for you, Danita! K.
