Guest guest
> Andy spends his time on this list out of respect for all the parents > trying to help their children. This is pretty much true. I have a lot of liking and respect for people who make their own decisions by thinking things through as best they can and take personal responsibility to do something based on their conclusions. I find this almost entirely lacking in modern life so I am glad to spend time on this list helping the kind of people I admire whom it turns out I can help. And in addition I have a lot of appreciation for how bad the kid's situation is, and how little chance they have of it improving unless they have parents willing to figure it out on their own, despite social pressure not to, and do the right thing as best they can. With the rare exception like Moe, you are all wonderful people and I am glad that by chance I ended up in a position where I could help. Andy . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Guest guest
I joined some time ago because of this section on the main page: " members develop a positive quality of life, provide affirmation, encouragement, inspiration, HOPE, empowerment, and practical suggestions. We share information gathered from the medical community but MOST IMPORTANTLY we share personal discoveries and insights that we've gained from living with CMT. " I am also here because I have two asymptomatic Type X daughters who may benefit from the new research Gretchen supplies us with. I was in other online groups, but when I saw this, it appealed to me. Yes, I was diagnosed as a child, early in my life with Type X. This was before the Internet Age, but we have a clear family history; although nothing had been done. It was really my grandfather who taught me that my brain needed to listen to positive thought. (He had a name for it, which I don't remember) Later, I had a buddy (polio survivor) who had the same type of life philosophy and helped me overcome my negativity about " my unknown and uncertain " life. Since coming to I have learned much about how CMT affects each of you. I am very appreciative for and Gretchen's idea for starting it. Just wanted to say to Gretchen how much the girls and I appreciated the holiday message and all your efforts you put into this group. We have benefitted very much. Seasons Greetings to all, , Hannah and Hayley
