Guest guest
To Gretchen from Gene Wonderful post " " " " " I have been reading a lot of the negative stuff that is posted here as well and mostly skip over it. We should try to help each other instead of lambasting someone if they think different, non of us are perfect at spelling, diction or our ideas. If we can not say anything good to help or encourage someone, then do not post at all. Thanks Gene ----- Original Message ----- From: Gretchen Glick ers at groups Sent: Monday, December 08, 2003 8:49 PM Subject: Moderator's Holiday Message Dear ers, I would like to take a few minutes to wish you all the very best of the holiday season that is upon us. Our group and postings will continue all through the holidays, but there may be a of slowdown on postings. Secondly, I sincerely appreciate each and every one of you and your sharing on CMT experiences and what helps you live a more comfortable and productive life. While I realize the holidays are difficult for some with sadness and depression, we will be here to console and encourage you as we are able. Please remember that the posting of flames only undermines the good we can do. Inflammatory posts will be deleted. We value the sharing of your experience related to CMT and realize CMT covers just not our physical body, but our psyche and emotions. The success of has been that we TRY to keep our posts as positive as we can. The medical profession has found that persons with a positive attitude toward their health are better able to manage chronic conditions and that participation in an on-line support group is also favorable. It was on that very premise that was born. Lastly, this group does not act with any medical authority whatsoever. We share what helps us, in that you may share with your doctors something that perhaps might be good for you. We recommend that you take what you find here and discuss it with your doctors. If you are unable, or unwilling, so be it. If your doctors refuse the information, we recommend finding another doctor. Please be careful with over the counter medications, self-imposed vitamin therapy and alternatives. In our quest for comfort, there are many avenues. Be true to yourself and to us. If you are uncertain about a new product or fad that may be " recommended for relief of (whatever), you might find this website of interest http://www.quackwatch.com After you read this post, please stop and be quiet for a minute. Let's all remember each other in a moment of beautiful silence, and let us also remember all the others on our planet where CMT information has yet to reach. With approximately 6 billion people living on Earth, and 1 out of every 2000-2500 has CMT, you do the math. Let us remember especially those who are alone and afraid. May we continue to console, encourage and bring hope to each other as we head into 2004. ~ Gretchen
