Guest guest
Dawn, Yes, stiff, locked up in extreme pain, for most of the day, until my medications kick in, and that doesn't work usually. My doctor states I don't have Arthritis, yet it runs on both sides of my family. I've had bones operated on, which always develops into scar tissue that's arthritic, and my doctor states that I don't have arthritis. Why then am I all locked up, 24/7, dang I need another doctor, loll. But my Neurosurgeon confirmed that I had arthritis scare tissue all on my old surgery, glad he noticed it. But yes, Dawn, we both have it. Rob Spinal Arthritis > Just this afternoon I was at my doctor getting the results of my x- > rays, and it is arthritis of the spine. She states it is common in > achondroplasia dwarfism. > I knew about the spinal stenosis, which also showed up in the x-rays > of course. > I am just wondering how everyone elses' backs are regarding stiffness > and mobility. Does anyone else here have spinal arthritis? > > Dawn > > > > === >
Guest guest
I am also an Achon, and had back surgery a few years back, and now have degenerative disk. I tried physical therapy, steroid injection and a high priced back support brace, all of which did not work. Now my Neuro is suggesting fusion up to L11. I was wondering if anyone had the fusion before. JR
Guest guest
, do you have CMT? Small world. I do and was at the Clinic at Wayne State last week. I get my braces there and see Dr. Shy, neurologist and Dr. Hinderer in rehabilitation. We know that CMT can cause numbness. Mine started in the feet and is now in the upper legs. My balance is gone so I use a walker. I have arthritis in my spine and my doctor here has MRI's done to see if the arthritis is causing stenosis or pressing on the nerves, but it does not show anything that causes the numbness in my legs. She blames it on the arthritis and nothing can be done. A neurologist here says I have superimposed lumbosacral paraspinal denervation. This is pain at the end of the tailbone and there is no treatment for me. Dr. Shy said this could be part of my CMT. Have you tried one of the cushions with a cut out in the back so you are not puting pressure on the tailbone. Jean
