CMT gets national exposure in the prestigious magazine, Scientific

American.

I opened my Oct. Scientific American last night & on page 37, is a

full color, full-page " eye " catching ad on CMT awareness. WOW! The

magazine is the oldest science magazine in the U.S. with a

circulation of 600,000 anf a readership of 4,000,000. ,

through her Hereditary Neuropathy Foundation placed the ad. This is a

big deal with more to come. We should thank her at

There are no " television ads " for CMT simply because of the immense

expense, and I do mean IMMENSE. Over the past few years I have

established relationships with media and have been able to have PSA's

created (public service announcements). These are less than 3 minutes

each and have aired quite a bit in the So. California markets. The

drawback is that they are mostly run late at night when most people are

asleep. The second drawback is every other disease/disorder is doing the

same.

If everyone in their respective towns/cities, went to their local TV

news station and asked for a PSA to be made, this would create greater

awareness. Also in the more remote areas, the chances for PSA's to be

aired at earlier hours are greater. But since PSA's are free, the news

station calls the final shots.

Why don't you try contacting your local television station regarding a

CMT PSA and see if they agree? Another idea you might wish to explore is

radio spots.

Money is always an issue whether with paids ads or research. I am still

aghast at one organization that just gave two research grants of $35K

each...mere chicken feed.

I'm working on a few " special " projects to heighten awareness in a

totally different way, and when all is said and done, will let everyone

know.
