I would say that I also have a " mild " case. To me that means

that I can do almost anything that I want to physically and

I do not use AFOs or other aids. I do have the typical foot

and hammer toe problems, (the Dr. says that my foot muscles

are very weak and atrophied) but my strong leg muscles

compensate. I have weakness in my hands, and my fingertips

are numb and I have pain from muscle cramping, etc. I think

my case is " mild " because I have read of some of the problems

other people are having with this disease and I realize that

I have an easier time of it. Also, I would classify my case

as " mild " because no one would know that I had CMT or anything

else by casual observation.

I also wanted to say how wonderful it is that the children's

book is being published! I am a librarian in a public library

and I think it is wonderful not only for the children who

may have CMT or a similar problem but for all children to

learn compassion and be educated. AND congratulations on

the birthday! This group/site has helped me so much! Thank

you Gretchen.
