Guest guest
welcome , I am Cathleen from Arkansas. I am about to turn 50 on September 19. I am married to a wonderful man who is so loving and helpful to me. I grew up in Texas and was constantly called a bull in the china closet, clumsy and even stupid because I walked funny and tripped a lot. I had zero self confindence most of my life. When I was finally diagnosed in 1997 after two missed diagnosis I was thrilled. No more feeling stupid and for the first time I wasn't feeling like I was crazy. So many times in muy adult years I felt like I was losing my mind because so many times doctors told me the problems were all in my head and now I had a name for what was wrong with me. About a year after I was diagnosed I found out quite by accident that in my family there were lots of great aunts and cousins with CMT but since they were all in Florida we didn't know this. Just knowing what I have boosted my confindence, I am not crazy, I am not stupid but I am still a bull in the china closet and at least I know why now. This group has taught me a lot and thanks to Gretchen I have learned a lot about what is going on with reasearch. Through others you will learn how they cope and get good ideas. I know you will enjoy it here. Cathleen
