Hi ,

(moderator of COPD group)

We only have the COPD group right now. Should there be a separate

group for general pulmonary diseases?

I test NO to that question. From my understanding, COPD is generally

defined as " chronic bronchitis and/or emphysema " .

I tested NO to being a moderator in the Asthma group. Surprised me

actually. Asthma is a pulmonary disease much like the others - albeit

a different cause and different response to an attack.

Incidentally, among other possibilities I suppose, asthma is caused

by a worm (ascarsis) in the lungs. These worms are hosted by cats and

dogs. So pets are the source, even for those people who do not have

pets, they get it from other peoples pets and from the air since the

worm eggs get transferred from soil into/onto floors and clothing,

etc. then into the air where they are breathed into the lungs, hence

the infestation in the lungs called asthma.
