Guest guest Posted August 2, 2003 Report Share Posted August 2, 2003 Finally, after 9 months of waiting I have recieved my test results for type 1b. The results have come back saying, I do not carry the gene which causes cmt in my family. So I do not carry this gene change. They say I do not have cmt or cmt is not the cause of my problems. They also say that another less unlikely cause is that another gene change, which they have not discovered is causing problems in my self and other members of my family. I have to go and see the geneticist shortly. I am really confused, my cousin is a council member of CMT UK ,and he is convinced, like him I have cmt. The only symptom I do not seem to have is major problems with my feet. I feel a bit of a fraud and quite honestly do not know what to do or think. Ian.
