My Introduction

Thank you for the opportunity to join with all of you. I

received your great magazine in the post to-day. This is

wonderful for me to have a chance to hear from other CMT

sufferers. I live in Dublin, Ireland and was diagnosed with CMT

just three years or so ago. I am 45 years old. My older sister

also has CMT but was suffering for years before she found out

what exactly was wrong. I feel the pain is so hard to describe

and knowledge of CMT is very limited over here. I get most of

my information from the internet and pass it on to my sister.

I am determined to try and keep myself mobile for as long as I

can and hope to not let this completely take over my life. I

find my leg brace a great help although it took me some time to

get used to it, and I only use my walking stick when I get

tired. The general feeling of tiredness is hard to overcome but

my partner and children are a great help to me. I look forward

to joining in and reading your messages and hope I have

something to offer sometimes.
