Thanks for the reply, . No, they didn't give me any

anesthesia either time, these were both minor areas for minimal

problems. I have always had a problem with poison ivy and have

had several steroid shots in the past (at least a couple every

spring/summer). This is the first year I've ever experienced

such a reaction. Yesterday I was telling my dietician about it

and she said she had a similiar experience when she got a

steroid shot in her elbow. Her dr. told her that type of reaction

only happens in about 1/200 people.

I must have the " luck of the Irish " ! LOL. Anyway,

feeling better now, and the rash is starting to disappear.

It was right where my brace touches my calf on the side so it

was really itchy and uncomfortable!

Have a good day.

Hi !

I have had steroid injections twice in my wrist nerve (for

carpal tunnel which CMT makes you more likely to get according

to my Dr.) Both times, the injection going in itself, burned

terribly and was like a shooting pain, but quickly stopped and

helped a tremendous amount with the pain and spasms in my hand,

wrist and arm. Maybe you have some sort of allergy to it or

something? What did your Dr. say?

Hi Deb:

I called the dr yesterday, because I am still feeling achy in

all of my joints. Not as severe as when I first got the shot,

but it has been over 48 hours and I am still really stiff and

feel almost flu-like. Of course, this was just a little

walk-in rural clinic that I got the steroid shot for the

poison ivy, and she didn't really know what to tell me. She

just said that if it's not better by Monday or gets worse over

the week-end I should contact my regular physician. It is

somewhat better, so I guess I'll just wait the week-end and see

how I feel on Monday. I think I am just having some weird

allergic reaction.
