Hi , I just had a steroid injection in my L4 Facet Joint

(lower back) on July 15th and I was completely immobile for 4

days. I just saw the doctor today for a follow-up and he

couldn't understand why it would cause more pain for that

length of time. It is normal to have a higher amount of pain

in the area the injection took place because it's a farely

invasive procedure. (for him it was as he first injected my

joint with dye and anesthetia - so it was really 3 injections

into one spot). Did your doc use anesthetia? That can

sometimes cause joint pain from what I've heard. The steroid

acts as an anti-inflammetory that is localized to the specific

area of pain - so to me it wouldn't make sense for it to cause

pain in all your joints - but I am not a doctor - simply

passing on the information that I received today. I don't

know anything about allergic reactions though, maybe that's the

problem? Hope I helped at least a little.

Take care and I hope you feel better,
