Guest guest
Thanks, KC. Did you find out about the two different Staph infections thru Dr.S's testing ? My son had Kawasaki syndrome (which can be caused by Staph Aureus's toxins (Toxic Shock Syndrome) or who knows it may also be due to mycotoxins as KD and carpet shampooing are always linked though we hadn't done any carpet shampooing at that time) when he was a baby and only after that he started having severe vomiting, loss of appetite etc and slowly regressed developmentally at 15 months of age. Thanks Jay tigerpaw2c <tigerpaw2c@...> wrote: Jay, We had visited Dr.Shoemaker within the last few months so it's too early to give you any type of results for except my wife has two staph infections. She will be starting on the antibodics this month, possibly. We'll let you know in the future the outcome. KC > Did anyone get tested and treated for CoagNegStaph ? Guest guest
Jay, Yes, it was through Dr.Shoemaker's testing. I'm very sorry to hear about your son and hopefully as time passes he will start to recover. I have read about Kawasaki syndrome being caused by the chemical they use when cleaning carpeting, but I think you must also realize that during up this procedure they are stirring up everything. Mold, bacteria, dust mites and who knows what else. I'm sure you probably racked your brain many times trying to figure out what was the trigger mechanism or environmental toxins. There is so much we don't know, but we go right back to the central nervous system again. Upon your visit with Dr.Shoemaker tell him KC says hey. You'll like him. Guest guest
No, rifampin didn't bother me. I almost hesitate to say that, because someone else might react to it. We're all different. Dr. Shoemaker said at the time that he hadn't yet found a way to predict who would react to what. I learned from that experience to treat all antibiotics exactly as I would treat any other fungal exposure. If I sense a bad reaction, then we picked the wrong stuff. Better to fix it than endure it, any time. I think the infection is probably back because I get stuffed up more, and because I know that it tends to be recurrent in people like me. Maybe we never quite wiped it out the first time. I couldn't say. What I was told and accepted for years as allergies was not. Now that I know that, I'm no longer content to put up with palliative treatment that's not even directed at the right problem. We know what it is and how to kill it. If we have to kill it again and again, I'm fine with that. At least I know we're going after the real problem for a change. I've got the mold/low MSH genetic profile, so we knew killing of the staph probably wouldn't be the end of it. Can't catch a common cold, but can't dodge the staph. That seems to be my lot for now. But please don't take what I say as an indication that this is the last word on the subject. I definitely don't know everything, but I know Shoemaker treats each patient individually, and he's learning new things all the time. He may handle your set of problems differently, and that's a really good thing. (If you're not vegan, have the crab cakes. They're expensive, but worth it! I've been wanting some more ever since I got home.) jkrishnaa <jkrishnaa@...> wrote: Hi Serena, Thank you for sharing your response. Why do you think the CoagnegStaph is back ? Is it possible that your bad reaction to one of the antibiotics was a herx due to addressing some bacteria ? My son and my husband also have tested high positive for bartonella, so I am waiting to combine treatment (if CNS is also present) as Rifampin is used to treat bart also.
