shoes a problem

I don't have all the answers to your shoe questions, Rob, but do find

New Balance a good shoe. My podiatrist said to make sure they have a

firm part on the sides near the back (can't remember the name--maybe

heel base?) Mine run over quite quickly, esp. because I have to wear

orthotics for my very high arch. The bottom of my foot is more

comfortable after they are broken in and start running over, but it

is worse on my ankles. Podiatrist also suggested hiking boots for

ankle support, but they put my feet so straight, the pain in my

arches is almost unbearable (but feels good on the ankles!). What a

dilemma. Maybe someone else has a better answer!
