Guest guest
I spent several years with doctors telling me there was nothing wrong with me and the pain was in my head. One even suggested a psychiatrist. ya know some days I wish those unbelieving doctors could have my pain and then lets see if they think it is in their heads. I am lucky I have a good neurologist. I have to travel almost three hours to see him but he is sure worth it. Cathleen
Guest guest
Hi Cathleen, My Social Security Disability doctor had a young, cute student following him around and he was trying to act like a god for her. He asked me why my eyes looked like I was in pain. I simply told him it was because I *was* in pain. He had the audacity to tell me that pain wasn't associated with CMT. I informed him he needed to learn the subject before he spoke on it. I then fired off a heated letter to my SS case worker informing him that if I was denied benefits based on this uninformed doctor's opinion, that I would require an examination by a QUALIFIED physician. I got my disability granted on the first try. Don't be afraid to stand up to doctors.......they aren't all many that believe themselves to be and none of them are all-knowing.
