Guest guest
, I am assuming your husband's leg pain is muscular in nature. When I was in my teens, I was given prescription potassium (liquid form) due to some wierd muscle pain in my legs. I was walking alot and my neurologist suggested this. I do remember it helped and I could have a normal teenage life. (school, work, social life etc) I took it maybe 2 years, 2X a day; long story short, I haven't had leg pain since. Now I think my Vitamin E helps blood pumping to muscles and keeps everything in balance. Perhaps instead of an orthopedist, you might want to get another opinion from a neurologist on the leg pain. The neuro might be able to give you and your husband some thoughts on whether this leg pain is nerve, muscle or bone (as in arthritis). Once you know that, there may be alternatives to the Loritab also. Just a thought and my limited experience. ~ Gretchen
Guest guest
I take neurontin and if it doesn't seem to be working I piggyback it with a benedryl, with the blessing of my neurologist. Cathleen
Guest guest
Hi Cathleen, I use Topamax, but would like something else, since the Topamax is just barely taking the edge off, and thats it. I took Neurontin, but it caused nauseua, so i had to switch to Topamax. Good luck on finding the right combo. There's not too many drs. out there that are sympathetic to our pain for some unknown reason. Makes me madder than all get out. Do they think that our pain isn't real? I wish that they could only know. I was wondering how a doctor would handle this type of pain, you all know how! Narcotics, and anything else that would help, thats what i don't even want to get started on that subject! Anyway, good luck Cathleen. Have a pain free day, if possible, i know.
