Ditto! I'd like to add somethng to that. I wear AFOs also, but

I've found that people are more aware of my handicap when I use my

cane.

I feel that's a good thing, because I don't get bumped into, etc.

We all know how dangerous that can be. Most people are also more

courteous, offer to open doors, etc. Using a cane really helps me

to stand without wobbling all over the place, too.

I believe that unless our disability is " visible " , we're just

another person in the crowd. I don't feel there's anything wrong

with having special needs and making people aware. I feel it

sometimes brings out the good in others.
