Guest guest
Elaine made the comment , " I watch where I walk, look down all the time, so I don't trip and keep on going. The keep on going is what keeps me going. " Ditto! I'd like to add somethng to that. I wear AFOs also, but I've found that people are more aware of my handicap when I use my cane. I feel that's a good thing, because I don't get bumped into, etc. We all know how dangerous that can be. Most people are also more courteous, offer to open doors, etc. Using a cane really helps me to stand without wobbling all over the place, too. I believe that unless our disability is " visible " , we're just another person in the crowd. I don't feel there's anything wrong with having special needs and making people aware. I feel it sometimes brings out the good in others. K.
