HI If you have a good team then go with your parental/advocate gut feelings. Just remember if they say something that sends out warning bells to ask to see it in writing. Some times they will say " Our Regs say......... " or " Our State criteria's are.......... " in denying a service. TELL them you want to see it in writing. Education is a business, one where " their " budget carries a lot of weight. Remember this, our concern is NOT the budget but an appropriate education for our child..........full of related services, supports, etc... to meet our kids needs. Boy can you tell my meeting is in two weeks heehee Kathy mom to Sara

Of course, you could bring your own and slide them across the table when you ask them to show you where in the regs is says whatever they are spouting! ;-) If they tell you it is local policy, then ask for that in writing. Many people here bring a friend as a " notetaker. " Most IEP teams won't object to that and it sounds safer than saying you are bringing an advocate ...... or a friend to kick you under the table if something sounds fishy or to remind you of your own agenda items that you might lose track of. Plus you get much better minutes of the meeting! ;-) Cheryl in VA
