Guest guest
Hi all! Hi to new members of the group too!! I found out the results of my blood tests from 3 months ago: negative for the types they can check for in blood. I'm not too surprised, just a little disappointed that the science is still so far behind on a disease as old as CMT. On the plus side, I got a prescription for AFOs and should be fitted shortly... I have mixed feelings on the subject, but pain can be a convincing motivator. I've worked many a 12 hour shift, usually for 8-10 days on end, which would leave my feet feeling like hamburger. I used to do digital pre-press, but due to the economy, I got laid off, and have been in school for Medical Assisting. I'm still able to walk, and use my hands - so I intend to keep going as long as I can. So I hope that with the AFOs I can be on my feet longer and they won't hurt as much. I read that some of the group are Nurses, do you have any suggestions for what helps you do your job? How many others work in health care and also have CMT? -
