Guest guest
Elaine, Don't wait for the pain, go and see a Doctor and see what can be done to help her. I waited too long, and now I'm paying for it (I'm 30). I have the classic " pes cavus " -shortened foot with a high arch. I have a really hard time with most shoes, but I find SAS brand to be really comfortable (they make and sell their own shoes). I also like Birkenstocks for sandals, as I can't even wear flip-flops or cheap sandals. The problem I have now is that because of walking on the outside of my feet for many years, is very painful calluses. I'm told that when I get my new AFOs that they will decrease and go away. I used to buy 8 1/2 but SAS measured my feet and I walked out with a pair of 7 triple-wides!! Much better, as my feet hung over the insoles of regular shoes- which aggravated the calluses. Anyway, with AFOs many here say that the shoe doesn't really matter as much and New Balance comes highly recommended. Good Luck, I hope this helps.
