Guest guest
Helen, I felt as if I was on a free fall roller coaster with my Mom for at least 5 years. She would be okay, then have a bad spell, then recover, but not back to where she had been, then after a while she would have another bad spell, then improve again, then down, then up a bit, on and on. It reminded me of ball that has been dropped ball -- it bounces back up after each drop, but not as high as before. She had a bad fall with each episode of increased weakness. She'd been a lifelong milk drinker, so she had strong bones and never broke any of them. Some of her down times were so bad I didn't know if she would live through them. She had progressive weakness, undiagnosed at the time, but I don't think she had pain. She said she didn't, but she was from the generation that didn't complain about that sort of thing, so I couldn't be sure. She did involuntarily wince sometimes. With me, the downward progression of weakness is fairly steady, as is the pain. I'm fortunate that my hubby is so helpful, compassionate and considerate. Guest guest
Kat, This is exactly what I have been trying to describe. My roller coaster is going rather fast now. Helen
