I have heard that adding dye to the plastic weakens it. I don't

know if this is true with every brand of AFO.

In relooking at the AFOs mine may not be exact but

darn close. I don't have padding at the ankles ,

they are open and that is a good thing as I don't

want anything touching my ankles they are very

tender to the touch, I do have a padding along the

shin bone in the front.

My AFO has padding and also has been heated out. Any time I get a new spot

that rubs, Michigan Orthopedics takes care of it as soon as I get there and

either redoes the padding or adds more. They are great. And I did not know

they

came in colors. Mine is clear, or I should say white, but they are kind of a

combination of a milky clear white, if that makes sence.

My AFOs are the same color as yours, Elaine. I

have on strap also; on the top around my calf.
