Guest guest
Hi Post from Jayesh......retrieved ... posted for Netrum. Vijay -------------------------------------------------------- Greetings! This is indeed a very serious issue... and as an interested party in ensuring safe, efficacious and quality medicines are made available to all, i sincerely feel that this is also an issue of 'Pharmacovigilance'. There are efforts coming from WHO-PSM department that public health programs are channels to implementing and/or strengthening Pharmacovigilance. The fact that there is a campaign for Vita A (and any other campaigns) being carried out also needs to involve the Department of Pharmacovigilance of that country to ensure that once the target medicine is given, and the " interested donors/sponsors " have gone back to their offices, and pertininet issues following the campaign need to be looked into by the pharmacovigilance dept and appropriate steps be taken to prevent same and similar " problems " at future campaigns. This i feel is one of the correct way forward in harmonising the " aims " of a mass public campaign. Jayesh M. Pandit
