Guest guest
Elaine, You might consider buying your scooter on ebay. I do not believe MDA would cover any of the cost, but your out of pocket expense could be lower than your portion of an MDA subsidized scooter. I would suggest that you figure out which scooter brand and model you would like and then do an ebay search. I just purchased my second scooter, a Rascal 245 with seat lift, canopy, cover, crutch holder, flag and extra large shoppers basket and shipping costs for just over a third of what I paid for my first scooter from the Electric Mobility dealer. There are a lot of slightly used scooters on ebay with few buyers - also scooter lifts and carriers. (I would suggest 10 " tires for greater ground clearance. You will be able to navigate more threshholds! My first scooter has 8 " tires - a major reason for replacing it!) Good luck.
