Hi. My name is Sheryl and I am 43. I found out that I had CMT when I

was 20. I have the high arches, hammer toes, and walk like a duck

(that's what everyone says :) I have been pretty lucky for alot of

years but now with age I am starting to have problems. About 3 years

ago I had extreme pain in the bottom of my left foot. I went to

several doctors including a MDA dr. but no one knew what to do but

put me on anti-flammatory (sp) and pain pills. I ended up having

several surgeries on my foot in 3 years but the pain kept coming

back. Finally last May my dr. amputated my left little toe and the

bone and that took care of my pain (and toe)! It took several months

but I actually had no more pain from it. Then I broke my foot and had

pain again. But finally it has healed. I notice my hands are worse

than they ever have been. I've always had trouble picking up small

objects but I am having trouble with buttons now. I can do it just

takes several times to do it. I also have sleep apnea and have used

the CPAP machine. But I quit using it and now am trying to get used

to it again. My brother is 50 and has CMT and has had one heart

attack and now is having lung trouble. He wakes up during the night

with terrible headaches and tightness in his chest like he is having

another heart attack. His lung dr wants him to get a second opinion

but doesn't know who to refer him to. Does anyone know of a good CMT

dr. in OK? Any advice would be appreciated.

Sheryl
