Guest guest
without having to go thru the expense of a chair, you can buy a custion you sit on and push a button and it well lift you up and forward. They have them at medical supply stores. Elaine,,,michigan

Guest guest
I had a difficult time getting off the couch after back surgery. My physical therapist showed me how to stack 3 pillows on each side of me and push down with my arms, slowly lifting myself to a standing position. ~ Gretchen

Guest guest
Don't know about the sofa question, but my Grandma has a recliner that actually has a setting that lifts the back of the seat so that she's almost in standing position while still sitting. Has helped her tons! She almost always gets stuck now.
Guest guest
That is a great suggestion! I'm going to use that next week. I'm scheduled on the 30th for another diagnostic injection - this one being on my S1 joint (hip). If it's anything like the first injection they did, it was almost impossible moving around. Guest guest
i will share a story with ya'll. A freind comes and takes me out to eat about twice a month. She and I both walk with canes , she because of arthritis , me because of CMT. well we went to a cafe one day only to find a waiting line to get in. we decided to wait and sat down on one of the couches to wait our turn. When they call out our names we suddenly realized how low the sofa was. We looked like two squirming cats trying to get off that sofa, everyone was staring . Then I started laughing and told the onlookers there would be a two dollar charge for the floor show. We all enjoyed a good laugh. a couple of young men who arrived late helped us up. Ahhhh laughter brings so much to my life and others too. Cathleen in Arkansas
