Promoting rational use of drugs should be joint effort of clinicians like and pharmacists. Pharmacists of any speciality should takre lead and guide medical profession what , how , when. where , why to prescribe drugs. Pharmacists should take lead and advise our medical profession, presently soley influenced by pharma industry. pharmacists at academic institutions can do lot of miracles . presently we have huge problem substandard and counterfeit drugs. most of academic institutions and their PG students can conduct studies on qualitative and quantitative aspects of commerically available drugs. this will strengthen hands of DCGI and med profession. Guest guest
pls consider the following for the committee few suggestions 1. all procureme t should be generic names 2. all prescriptions from essential drug list of the health facility ( such lsit as per facility hav ebeen preared printed and submitted to various states governmnets) 3 need estimation as per morbidity of teh disease 4 In private problem is more sevre as its driven by comapnies 5. Governmemnt must come out with policies and then publicise them ( eg malaria treatmment/ kala azar treatmment policy) 6 STOP -OTC sales through TV and kirana shops 7. GOI / states to conduct regular awareness sessions at district and sub district levels 8. AEFI to drugs to be reported/ recorded / and investigated 9. Pharmcovigilance for all bathces of drug production 10 only WHO GMP drugs to be sold and not GMP . In case required there should be pre qualification by WHO ( This is difficult as WHO may not have requisite time and personnel- we have seen this in OPV and is a lengthy procedure) 10 No dispensing without prescripotion by chemists rgds DR Anil Varshney IMMUNIZE EVERY CHILD FOR HEALTHY FUTURE, PREVENT AIDS ,-PRACTICE SAFE SEX ,EAT HEALTHY FOODS SLEEP WELL , EXERCISE DAILY , MEDITATE FOR HEALTHY LIVING Re: Re: Offer to manage NetRUM for one year Dear all No one can do everything.but all of us can do something. dr anupam was very right.
