Guest guest
Hi and , Welcome and please email anytime...I'm new to this too, as my 5 year was just diagnosed 2 years ago. Heidi and are super experienced CMT parents, and there are a number of adults in the group who were diagnosed early ....We are all going through similar things. It does get easier...it is not plan A, or even B, but plan Y, one that will put you in touch with some wonderful people that you would never have otherwise met. Gavin has had hip pain...but mostly weakness, towards one side. Our doctor told us that wearing the AFOs should help him have more stamina once he got used to wearing them....they did slow him down at first, but now he's running. , what time does your daughter go to bed? Gavin was crashingly tired last fall when he first went to kindergarten, falling asleep in his dinner, scooting along the floor because he said his legs were too tired to walk...We worked on getting him an hour nap in afternoon and rolling back his bedtime to ca. 7:30...by Christmas, he was much less tired. I think most kids, CMT or not, have a big adjustment to kindergarten, their brains and bodies are working really hard and it's tiring. Teaching them to pace themselves is a trick.
