Let me ask you some question. Is that the guarantee, use of ayurvedic medicine by most population? Most of the time herbal medicine considered as safe simply by consodering the large number population an as well long term use of the product by the population. The other thing is the constituents this ayurvedic products are more than one compound in it. Some study shows there might be toxicity because of the presence of more than one compounds. The other burning issue is the sudden extinsion of some medicinal plants because the missuse of the roots of plants. Conservation one of the major burder of ayurvedic medicine. Lastly TCM uses to explore new brand drugs for chronic diseases like Chrhon's syndrome. So they will be scientific research to use this golden opportunities of knowledge for Indians. Guest guest
Hi, Thanks Bashaar for stirring up the nest! Hope our busy bees respond to your request and bring in the honey to make this discussion sweet. Yes, these days I usually do not moderate and use my energies during emergencies like this one! In any situation, including Ayurveda, if we frankly admit that the problem exists, it becomes easy and meaningful to discuss it. Ayurveda was a grand science which lost its sheen because with development of science it could not keep pace with scientific methodology. Indian Government has made some initiatives to restore the old glory to Ayurveda but the efforts need greater push and acceptance from practitioners of modern medicine. Becuase there is no whole hearted integration of Ayurveda with modern medicine, modern medicine occupies numero uno position in social heirarchy. Modern medicine doctors and newer generation look down upon Ayurveda becuase that is what they learn from media. Absolute criticism, yellow journalism, planted stories from the competetive allopathy usually blur the view. The spects therefore need to be cleaned for a better insight in the scenario. Ayurveda can regain its lost position only if Vaidyas accept the challenge to give it scientific validity and proof enough of its efficacy and start publishing the research papers in medical journals. They have to come out of the shell and prove it to the world that Ayurveda is meaningful. Decades have passed since Ayurveda started slipping down. Efforts are required to restore it back to the position but the modern generation will not accept it without evidence base. Quality of medicines from any pathy has has much to do in the situation. Ayurvedic medicines have suffered the tarnishing due to poor quality controls. If in the past these were hand made by the Vaidyas, now these are manufactured in industry. The industry manufacturing these is resisting to change in the best interest of its consumers. Till the manufacturers start producing only quality medicines, Ayurveda's acceptability in modern times will be low.
