Guest guest
A while back I contacted the Tyler Medical Clinic - in Los Angeles - in regards to PGD or PID as it is also known. (This is pre-implantation diagnosis, a form of in vitro, in which the CMT gene can be removed, resulting in a child without CMT.) Below is the reply. I received much more information on this from the Bay Area Clinic and the Center for Reproductive Medicine. ~ G > Thank you for your interest in our services. First we would like to apologize for the delay in our answer. But as we mentioned in our previous email, we had a fire in our office nearly two months ago and we are still reorganizing. > > Follow the answers to your questions: > > 1-We did not perform any CMT PGD procedures yet. > > 2-The total cost for the IVF/PGD procedure in our clinic would range between $12,000 and $15,000. > > 3-Even though our PGD program has worked well with 100% success in our other cases, we still recommend amniocentesis to make sure the baby conceived is not affected by the disease in question. We usually keep in contact with all our patients and receive any reports from them on their children health. > > Please let us know if you need additional information or if you have any other questions. > > Kind regards. > > J Marik, MD
