Guest guest
I did it, well sort of. ;-) The goal was a 5 mile hike. Angel's landing in Zion National Park. It is strenuous and a long haul, but I got as far as my wife would let me go. Hehehe. I made it to Scout's Lookout. A 2 mile n(4 mile round trip) 1,000 foot elevation change hike. The view is absolutely stunning. I took a long time and received major support from my wife every step of the way, some times it was verbal and occasionally physical (she kept me from falling off the trail more times then I care to admit). The last half mile is almost vertical rock climbing, and my wife who is afraid of heights was not about to go there, and with my balance she wasn't letting me go either. I came up with a new mantra on the way. B-B-F-G " Breath in - Breathe out - Fall down – Get up. When I got tired I mentally kept that going through my head. The point is, that with determination the disease does not have to beat you! I will have some photos online later. I also got lots of encouragement from fellow hikers who noticed my slow process up and down the mountain. I did it!!! Find your mountain and go climb it!!!!
