Thanks, Krista. Wow, that's so sweet of you to think of me! :o) So

you were dizzy and headachy, too? I read somewhere that the effects of

general anesthesia can last for several days, and even more than that

if your body has a hard time filtering out the drugs. My other thought

was that the blood loss may be causing me to feel this way. I didn't

lose lots of blood, but I had my period right before the surgery, and

did lose some blood afterwards (I had drains). My husband said since

I'm a pretty small girl it could have an effect on me. I do tend to be

a little anemic anyway, so I guess that's possible. I'm back on my

multi-vit today and it has chelated iron, so hopefully that will help.

Oh and yes, I'm taking vit C and have also started back on some of my

other supplements.

It is such a relief to know that the things that I do for my health now

aren't being sabotaged by having those foreign/toxic things in my

body. Yay!

April,You might try swabbing the inside of your nose with an antifungal ointment . . . like that used for jock itch . . . It works fast!Chances are the antibiotics you were given during surgery prompted the fungus stuff to grow.Hugs,Rogene

Congrats April!!!!! You are well on your way to healing. I am so glad the surgery is behind you now!!!!!

Much Love,

Beth

I did it!!!

I had my explant with Dr. Melmed on February 4th. The surgery went well, no complications. He removed 90% of the scar tissue, the rest was too paper-thin and attached to the ribcage. I am pretty flat and deflated, but I know that will change in the following months. I've felt pretty good, just very tired and sore. I didn't have to take any RX pain meds (just Tylenol), so I was very thankful for that. My main complaint is that yesterday and today my head has been hurting and I've felt what seems like sinus pressure and a little dizziness. And I've also had some sinus drainage. I've been fighting a fungal sinus infection forever, and I'm wondering if getting the implants out is already breaking some stuff up in my sinuses? I don't know, but it feels pretty aweful. :o(Thanks to all of you for the great info here. I know I wouldn't have had the courage to do this without this group and others

like it.To those of you who are still considering this surgery, or just waiting for your surgery date to come around - have no fear. I was pretty worried about it. But with prayer, an awesome surgeon, and a great hospital staff, it really was a good experience. I'm so thankful it is behind me and I can finally start getting healthy.Blessings,April

Thanks, Rogene. I never thought of doing that. I have some Olive

Leaf Nasal Spray and I started using that again today and I think it

may already be helping. Luckily I wasn't given any antibiotics

during surgery so I won't have to deal w/reprocussions from that. I'm

taking vit C, olive leaf and probiotics, so that should help keep

away any infection from the surgery.

April,I'd be very, very surprised if you weren't given antibiotics in an IV . . . They're pretty much standard practice for any surgery . . . and, considering all the stuff you can catch in a hospital setting, probably a good idea.Rogene
