Guest guest
----- Original Message ----- From: " robin " <robinschon@...> > I am really in the mood for a big grilled steak with mushrooms and > onions. So why not plan for it? Last Thursday and I had boiled shrimp, steak and mushrooms. I planned my portions and couldn't eat it all because I was stuffed. Extremely unusual for me. I had 6 ounces of ribeye at 400 calories and 2 cups of mushrooms at 151 calories. Not bad at all for a special dinner. Onions are free. Have all you want of those. Savor the steak. You don't need 10 ounces to feel satisfied. Fill up on mushrooms, onions, side of broccoli or whatever and savor every bite of steak. I want to go to a Tex Mex restaurant. I think the best way to do this is to just let myself do it once a month and not worry about the calories. Something I can plan for and look forward to. I used to go out to lunch whenever the kids weren't with me and that is so expensive and has way too many calories. I can't stop doing it completely because I'll feel deprived but I can plan for it and work it into my program. If I average 2000 calories this week I can go out for Tex Mex lunch next Thursday. I don't see it as rewarding myself with food but more of fitting things I really like into my program. Gotta take Vonn to school, Ann
Guest guest
Because it is a couple of days until payday, and that means that we eat what ever is here in the house. When I grocery shop I shudder when I look at the price of beef anymore and can't bring myself to pay for it. So we eat a lot of chicken, pork chops and ground beef.If I can get a good deal on a roast then I will buy 5 or 6 and use them for different things. I also like my steaks grilled and I do have a gas grill, however, being that it is only about 15 degrees out,I won't be using it right now.lol > From: " robin " <robinschon@y...> > > > I am really in the mood for a big grilled steak with mushrooms and > > onions. > > So why not plan for it? > >

Guest guest
Wow Beth, you've done it. Well done. I was just about to ask my computer whizz friend to help me out on this one and you have got here all on your own. You know without me saying this that I give you the warmest welcome possible. Every one has heard about you already from me and I hope they will all become your friends and solid support as they have done for me. I have just got my follow-up appointment in the post today. It is for Monday 17th July. They did say 4-6 weeks after discharge, so they got it right. Can't wait to see you again. (we are going out together in about 10-14 days, we do not live very far apart at all. Aren't we the lucky ones?) Get typing my lovely friend and prove to them how nutty people who live in our area all are. Your sense of humour and laid back attitude will go down a treat in this Group. I say, leave the medical knowledge to those who have it. Guest guest
giving a honest effort is all any of us can do:) I know what you mean about not being able to use a gym. I couldnt afford it if there was one around here but the closest one to me is about 30 miles. And since I don't have a car and there are no buses or taxis in this hick area not to mention the money issue.....gyms are out. We just have to make the most of what we do have. Its great you have something. I spend most of my exercise on a exercise bike i have at home that i picked up at a yard sale. But many people just use old fashion exercises like walking in place, food cans for weights etc.... Use your imagination. Put on some music and dance like a teenager again:) > Hi , All i can do is give it an honest effort. Guest guest
Hi Jenica, I put my son through 3 rounds of vaccines (up to 6 month shots). Sometimes I do feel guilty, but I try to focus more on being thankful that I began research before I put him through any additional vaccines. He even had a bad reaction to the 2 month shots and I let a doctor convince me it wasn't the shots.  I started researching when he was 9 months old and he hasn't had a vaccine since and my daughter is vaccine free. Marie Quisenberry leesamarie2828@... Hello everybody Hello members, I'm a new mom just starting to research the vaccine issues and feeling really guilty for having given my little one the full range of vaccines at two months. My siblings and I never had a single shot growing up and never had anything other than the common cold. I decided to vaccinate my daughter so that she would be able to go to school. Now I'm obsessed with guilt over having given my daughter so many vaccines at once without stopping to think about it. My little one didn't suffer any kind of reaction, but she used to " talk " a lot before her vaccines and then she sort of slowed down on the speaking and, at five months, kind of picked up where she left off and is becoming more vocal. I think that the round of shots hampered her developement. She's five months now and only rolls over when I prompt her to. I remember my brothers being so much more active, rolling over and scooting and hoisting themselves up at four months. My questons are: Anyone else suspect that the first round of shots set their baby back a little with developement? Does anyone else feel guilty over giving the first round without researching? Guest guest
Yes, to both of your questions. I have to keep saying to myself, " what's done is done " , but at the same time I am so angry that I was lied to. I thought I did my homework by reading the CDC's booklet and refusing some vaccines. I now see my situation as something I can use for the good - to educate people. I watched my infant " regress " too. What scares me is that developmental delays are usually an indicator of future learning disabilities (already there with my 14 year old). However, since we both saw the signs early and woke up, it may be reversible. I am currently looking into detox for my 14 and 1 year old children. Welcome to the group too!! You will learn a lot and receive a lot of support! Guest guest
I felt guilty about many things regarding my daughter. It sucks that we don't have the needed guidance we so deserve. Everything from vaccine to baby bottles are a nightmare. YOu can't look back....look forward! Do lots of research on everything you plan on giving your daughter! Everything!! my daughter was drinking out of plastic, had regular clothing, regular toys. Now...(.if you can do it), she has organic clothing and food, non-toxic toys made in the US(lots of unfinished wooden toys), and she had been drinking and eating out of glass. Now, we use unfinished wood and bamboo. I am not letting these scum bags poison my kids because they want to fill their greedy little pockets(sorry, I am upset how nobody even cares about the babies!!) Is she the only child? Because, usually, when kids are around other kids they blossom even more! In other-words, YOu guys had siblings to watch and learn from. Don't beat yourself up any more! Guest guest
It's really hard to know what your baby is really like without vaccines, cause right at 12 hours after birth they are injected with the hep B vax (probably one of the worst vaxes,) along with the vit. K. However, all babies are different. If your baby is fine now, then don't worry about anything. > Anyone else suspect that the first round of shots set their baby back a > little with developement? > Does anyone else feel guilty over giving the first round without > researching? >
Guest guest
Yes, I am inthe medical field (physical therapy) and even though I do not give shots or have direct impact I beleive we are all brain washed about medication and vaccines. I may not give shots but I see the kids that they mess up. We have a gross and fine motor test that we frequently use to measure a childs development. It will tell you what percetnile and what age you child is in these areas (ie a 2year old who can not walk yet may be at an 11 month old level). A few years ago, the test had to be changed (dumbed down) a little because a now " typical " child is not at the same developmental stages as a " typical " child was 20 years ago....hmmm wonder why they are developing at a slower rate???\ As for my kids. I did do a very minimal amount of reasearch prior to my DS birth...very minimal. I held off on giving his Hep B until 2 months then preceded will ALL vax until 18 months when he was no longer able to communicate, flapped his arms, walked on his toes, a wiggled his fingers infront of his eyes for hours. At that time I was pergnant did a little bit more research but not enough and my DD was vaxed to 9 months. The she started having what we initally thought were seizures. He eyes would roll back into her head. Sometimes for 5 seconds other for up to 4 minutes. She had an EEG wen to 2 different Neurologist and they deceided it was " benign tics " my a$$ they were. We went through extensive detox with both of them DS more than DD. DS is now " typical and indistenguishable among his peers " and DD " tics " stopped within 2 weeks. I feel guilty everyday but the fact that I am now educated and am preventing further damage to my children as well as to other children through education to others makes it easier. I frenquently hand brochures to parents about vaccines. I know of at least 2 children who will receive no more vaccines because of the infuence I had on their parents. Be educated, stay smart and educate others andrea > > Hello members, > I'm a new mom just starting to research the vaccine issues and feeling > really guilty for having given my little one the full range of vaccines > at two months. One of my favorite quotes is by Maya Angelou... " When you know better, you do better " . You can't go on feeling guilty. Just let it go and know that now you will do better for her. Thank goodness she didn't have a reaction. As for her development, girls and boys develop soooo differently! I have noticed (with neices, nephews, and now my own daughter and son) that girls always seem to chatter sooner, whereas boys seem to develop their motor skills sooner. I don't think my (non-vaxxed) daughter rolled over until around 6 months. As for her seeming to regress regarding " talking " , often when children are learning to master a new skill, all of their development focus is on the new skill and they can sometimes appear to lose a previous skill. I wouldn't worry about it and I certainly wouldn't waste any more time feeling guilty! Just enjoy these moments because they are certainly fleeting! Congrats and good luck in your research on vaccines!

Guest guest
Welcome to the list. I think many of us feel guilty for the shots we allowed our children to have. Fortunately you realized sooner than many of us that vaccines are dangerous. I was an RN when my kids were born. They were fully vaxed through their kindergarten shots (and were ALWAYS sick). There were a few less shots then (they are 17 and 18 now). They didn't have the chicken pox vaccines, rotavirus, Hep A, flu, or any of the other newer ones that are pushed now. Their health was awful, but their physical milestones were met very early. My son was cooing and " talking " at 2 weeks, he ended up being a late talker though, but rolled over, scooted across the floor and such at 4 months. Again, he had fewer vaccines than babies get now, so that could be the difference. Both were walking without help at 8 and 9 months of age. I hate to think how they might have been affected with all the shots that are on schedule now. Their health didn't improve until I stopped vaxing and stopped going to allopathic doctors. We've been using homeopathy for the last 7 or so years, and it's made a world of difference in our family's health. I no longer work as an RN, and never will again, knowing what I do now about the medical industry (and I worked in pediatrics and obstetrics... GIVING shots, so I had some guilt to get through over that, too!) Your baby is so fortunate that you have realized so early in her life that vaccines can damage her. So many don't come to that point until it's too late. Guest guest
Unfortunately no. They didn't get it at birth (ds was born in 1991), but they " caught them up " with the Hep B when they got their kindergarten shots. I " had " to get the Hep B in college to be able to start my clinicals for nursing class. I didn't have a clue about exemptions back in the mid 80s. Now the kids have religious exemptions for school (dd is in college now, and fortunately they didn't even ask about vaccines when she applied). Guest guest
Hi all, I just need to mention that many of us on this group are very privileged (some more than others) to be able to do these sorts of things for our children. My sister made me feel so so bad the other day, when I was complaining about the preservatives they add to so called 100% pure fruit juices. She reminded me that many of the starving children on our streets here in South Africa, would give an arm for a full cooked meal albeit Roast battery chicken, with non organic insecticide, fertilizer grown potatoes and vegetables. We would never intentionally do things which would harm our children ie vaccinate them (now that we know the truth), but the truth is that for a large part of the world things like wearing organic cotton clothes are just not a possiblity. We have children, freezing and starving to death in our country. If you told them they should not play with, the one toy they may have picked up out of a landfill site, because it has been painted with lead based paint, you would be robbing them of the one and only joy they may have in their lives. As for the furniture, most people in Africa don't even have beds to sleep on, many shack dwellers have to stand and brace their roofs during rain storms and strong wind, this is usually a family affair where even the children have to partake. We as a family try to keep a clear perspective on life. We believe that the Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away, and so we will do what we can to protect our children, but are fully aware that we can loose our lives at anytime. We are thankful for the roof over our heads, the food we have to eat (not all organic), and the clothes which protect our bodies from the blistering summer sun, and the cold dry winter months. Joyce D Gauteng, South Africa Re: Hello everybody I felt guilty about many things regarding my daughter. Your baby needs you to be happy! regards correy On Oct 3, 2008, at 2:03 PM, jenicalodde wrote: > Hello members, > I'm a new mom just starting to research the vaccine issues and feeling > really guilty for having given my little one the full range of > vaccines > at two months. Guest guest
You just do the best you can. These products shouldn't be made with harmful chemicals in the first place. We should not have to pay more for healthy products. I am not ashamed of the privileges that I have. And, I am not comparing my family with yours or others. I am glad I wrote what I wrote. I think it is disgusting that governments allow such things. Most countries are run to where it is impossible for it to be successful. I don't need a lecture from you! I am well aware of what is going on in other countries....thank you very much. I will NOT feel guilty! Is any of what you said a reason I shouldn't look out for my children or recommend ways for others to look out for theirs? Not everyone can do what we do. I am very thankful. Guest guest
Joyce, That sure puts things in perspective. Thank you for the reminder about how blessed we actually are. -- > > Hi all, > > I just need to mention that many of us on this group are very privileged (some more than others) to be able to do these sorts of things for our children. Guest guest
Absolutely! They didn't have any shots until 2 months. Then DD " only " got polio and Dpt. DS got polio, Hib and Dpt at 2 months. Kay -----Original Message----- Well, they avoided it at birth anyway. That's good news. Winnie ----- Original Message ----- From: Kay > Unfortunately no. Guest guest
Thank you, Joyce, for the reminder that we ARE indeed blessed with what we have. Most of us have never seen what much of the world has to deal with, and thus we often lose sight of how much we really do have. Like you said, we all do the best we can for our children under the circumstances that we face. All the best to you. Kay in KY -----Original Message----- I just need to mention that many of us on this group are very privileged (some more than others) to be able to do these sorts of things for our children.
