Guest guest
Welcome Bethany. I understand your struggle. At your age I started to drink because of CMT. So don't take my advice there! I managed college and grad school and dating and the start of a career with CMT and alcohol. In college and grad school I biked everywhere - walking the campus was hard, but the bike got me where I needed to go with no problem. I was never too self-conscious, but now and then someone would say " did you hurt your foot " and I'd say " yes " . That was the early 70's and I didn't have any email groups, magazines, or newsletters to educate myself or my friends. I still managed all the normal things, work, social life, etc. I stopped drinking when I was 27 and things got better when I decided to learn about CMT and how I could best take care of myself. Life is up and down for everyone, but I have to admit my 'ups' are greater! And what keeps me up is choosing my attitude each day. You have alot of years ahead - there IS someone special just waiting for you! Get to know yourself, and all about CMT. Be a good friend to others. Set some goals - in ten years, you will have alot to look back on! Then FORWARD again! At least that is how I have lived my life and still do As for jobs, I've had a very interesting career and it keeps getting better... you might want to take a look in our FILES section for the folder on CAREERS. Last year/or the year before last, we had some discussions on jobs and careers for CMT persons, and I put them all together in a list. Again, welcome. Hope you enjoy . ~ Gretchen
