Guest guest
I have not had a knee replacment but I have had reconstructive surgery. My knees have always been a problem they continusly would pop out of joint and my knee caps are smaller than normal. I can't totally blame this problem on CMT but the DR. thinks that CMT is a factor. In 2001 I had my left knee done the Dr. drilled a hole in my knee cap and put a anchor in it and then cut the muscles and tendons and criss crossed them over my knee cap and sutured them to the anchor. It was a very long 5 month healing process. In Feb. of this year I had the same done to my other knee this time he scoped it and I had jagged cartledge removed from behind the knee cap. This time for some reason the healing time has been cut in half! I think it's because the first time I was in a cast for 6 weeks and I chose not to have it casted and began slowly working my knee. I don't know if this will help and if anyone has a question you can email me. Take care,
